IT partner in India for UAE companies

Software and developers from India, on UAE working hours.

Effred Technologies builds software and supplies engineers from Gurugram, an hour and a half ahead of Dubai. That means seven and a half shared hours a day, invoices in dirhams or dollars, and a few UAE rules to settle before the work starts.

What we can do for a company in the UAE

Companies in the Gulf already work with us, and our teams overlap with Gulf working hours. This is the work we can take on for you:

  • Engineers on your team. Developers, QA, DevOps, data and marketing specialists who join your stand-ups, tools and sprints, from one person upwards. See hiring developers.
  • Software, web and mobile apps. Customer portals, internal systems, websites and iOS and Android apps, built from a written plan with a fixed estimate. See custom software development.
  • A CRM that your sales team uses. A custom CRM, or Zoho CRM, Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Freshsales, connected to email, WhatsApp Business and your phones. See CRM development.
  • AI agents and chatbots. Assistants for your website, WhatsApp or internal tools that answer from your own documents and hand decisions back to a person. See AI development.

After launch, our IT support team can monitor and fix what you run, in business hours or around the clock, and the AI agents of Effred SIM can watch production applications 24×7. For finance, HR and operations work, see business process automation. For colleagues who prefer Arabic, an overview of our work is also on our Arabic pages (العربية).

Your working week and ours

The UAE runs on Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4) and India on Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30). India is an hour and a half ahead, and neither country changes its clocks, so the gap is the same all year.

That is seven and a half shared hours, enough for stand-ups, reviews and pairing without anyone working late. Only the last hour and a half of your day, after 4:30 pm, falls outside the India day.

Weekends, Fridays and Ramadan

  • Weekends. Since 1 January 2022 the federal government has worked Monday to Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off; Sharjah’s government works Monday to Thursday. Private companies set their rest days in the labour contract. If yours are Saturday and Sunday, your week lines up with a Monday-to-Friday team in India.
  • Fridays. Federal government offices work until noon on Fridays. If your Fridays are short, plan reviews and releases for Monday to Thursday.
  • Ramadan. Private-sector working hours in the UAE are two hours shorter a day during Ramadan. Agree the shared meeting times for that month in advance.
  • Public holidays. UAE and Indian holidays differ. Put both calendars in the contract so nobody is surprised by a quiet day.

Four ways to work together

ModelHow it worksBest forTypical
Staff augmentationOne or more people join your team. You direct the work; we handle contracts, salaries, equipment and compliance.Filling a skill gap fastFrom 1 person, monthly
Dedicated teamA full squad of engineers, QA and a lead, working only on your product.New products and long roadmapsFrom 3 people, quarterly
Project deliveryWe build an agreed scope. A short paid discovery ends in a written plan and a fixed estimate; then you see working software every two weeks.A product or system with a clear scopeDiscovery in 1–2 weeks, then two-week sprints
Build–operate–transferWe set up and run a team in India for you, then transfer it to your own entity.Your own centre in India12–36 months

Contract-to-hire is built in as well: work with someone first, then move them to your own payroll on terms agreed upfront. Our guide to staff augmentation, dedicated teams and outsourcing compares the models on control, speed, cost and risk.

Contracts and invoices

  • Invoices in dirhams or dollars. We bill in AED or USD, or in GBP, EUR or INR if that suits your finance team. Staff augmentation is one monthly invoice.
  • Fixed prices. Staff augmentation is a fixed monthly rate per person, with no placement fee. A project gets a fixed estimate for the first release once discovery is done.
  • Your IP from day one. The NDA and IP assignment are signed before anyone has access. Code goes into your repositories, and apps are published in your own developer accounts.
  • Tax. Services supplied from India to clients abroad can qualify as zero-rated exports under India’s GST. On your side, ask your tax adviser how UAE VAT applies to services you buy from abroad.

UAE data protection: the PDPL, DIFC and ADGM

Which rules apply depends on where your company is licensed and what data the team in India will see.

Onshore: the PDPL

The Personal Data Protection Law (opens in a new tab), Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, has been in force since 2 January 2022 and sets the rules for sending personal data abroad:

  • Article 22: transfers to a country with an adequate level of protection, as approved by the UAE Data Office.
  • Article 23: where there is no adequacy finding, transfers only in listed cases: for example, with the person’s express consent, where the transfer is needed to perform a contract, or, for countries without a data protection law, under a contract that binds the recipient to the PDPL’s standards.
  • Data with its own law. The PDPL does not cover data that other legislation regulates, such as government data, personal health data and personal financial data. A health or finance project needs its own check.

Some details of the PDPL depend on its executive regulations, so confirm the current position with your adviser before you rely on one route.

DIFC and ADGM

The two financial free zones have their own laws. In the DIFC, the Data Protection Law, DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020 (opens in a new tab), allows transfers to jurisdictions on its adequacy list, or under safeguards such as the DIFC standard contractual clauses; India is not on that list today. In ADGM, the Data Protection Regulations 2021 (opens in a new tab) allow transfers on adequacy, on safeguards such as ADGM’s standard contractual clauses, or on narrow derogations, and treat giving someone abroad access to a system as a transfer.

On our side, we can sign an NDA before we see anything, and the NDA and IP assignment are in place before anyone gets access. Our engineers work in your repositories and your accounts, so you decide where the data is hosted.

This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice. Check the rules that apply to your licence and your data with your adviser before personal data leaves the UAE.

Put these in the brief for a UAE project

A few things shape software for the UAE more than most. Raise them on the first call, with us or with any vendor you are comparing:

  • Arabic. Whether screens, emails and PDFs need Arabic as well as English. That means right-to-left layouts, Arabic fonts and mixed-direction text, tested on every screen.
  • eInvoicing. The UAE’s eInvoicing system is coming in phases. Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and go live by 1 January 2027; smaller businesses follow, with a provider by 31 March 2027 and go-live on 1 July 2027. If the project touches your invoicing, ERP or billing, plan that connection into the scope (Ministry of Finance (opens in a new tab)).
  • WhatsApp. If your customers talk to you on WhatsApp, say so. Our CRM and chatbot work connects WhatsApp Business to the rest of your systems.
  • Where the data lives. If data must stay in the UAE, or inside a free zone’s rules, decide it before the architecture is drawn, not after.

How to choose a software development company in India

Outsourced software projects often go wrong before the first line of code is written: a vague scope, a team that changed after the pitch, or a contract that left the code with someone else. This checklist covers what to ask, what to read and when to walk away.

How to brief a staff augmentation partner

A good brief gets you a shortlist worth interviewing. A vague one gets you a week of CVs that miss. Here is what to share up front, the mistakes that waste a first shortlist, and a template you can copy.

Common questions

How many working hours do the UAE and India share?

Seven and a half on a 9-to-6 day at both ends: 9 am to 4:30 pm in the UAE, which is 10:30 am to 6 pm in India. The UAE (UTC+4) is an hour and a half behind India (UTC+5:30), and neither country changes its clocks.

Can you invoice in dirhams?

Yes. We invoice in AED or USD, or in GBP, EUR or INR if you prefer. Staff augmentation is one monthly invoice at a fixed rate per person, with no placement fee.

Can a team in India work with personal data from the UAE?

Usually, yes, but it needs a lawful route. Under the PDPL that is Article 22 (a country with adequate protection, approved by the UAE Data Office) or one of the cases in Article 23, such as express consent or a transfer needed to perform a contract. Companies in the DIFC or ADGM follow their free zone’s rules, such as its standard contractual clauses. Check which route fits your data with an adviser.

Can you set up a team in India for our company?

Yes. A dedicated team starts from three people and works only on your product. If you want your own centre in India later, build–operate–transfer means we set up and run the team, then transfer it to your own entity, usually over 12 to 36 months.

Do we own the work?

Yes. Code, designs and documentation are yours, in your repositories, from day one. The NDA and IP assignment are signed before anyone has access.
