Hand us the manual work, not just the headcount

Moving manual work offshore often means moving the same keystrokes to cheaper hours. We would rather take the keystrokes away. Effred Technologies is an automation specialist: we work with many companies and deploy our automations for their finance, HR, operations and back-office teams. Across the client deployments we run, those automations remove up to 10,000 hours of manual work a day.

  • Finance. Invoices read by AI and matched to purchase orders, bank and payment reconciliations, and month-end reports that update themselves from the systems the numbers come from.
  • HR. A new hire’s details typed once and sent to every system that needs them, and approvals routed to the right manager by email, Slack or Microsoft Teams, with a record of who approved what and when.
  • Operations and the back office. RPA bots for older software and web portals that have no API, and AI agents that triage emails and tickets and prepare entries for a person to confirm.

We use APIs where they exist, RPA where they don’t and AI to read documents and scans, inside the systems you already run, such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, NetSuite, ServiceNow or Workday. The first workflow is usually live in three to six weeks on a fixed estimate, and we measure it against the old way before you decide what comes next. See business process and AI automation.

What changes for your team

The hours matter, but the bigger change is in how your people work:

  • Time for judgment. Your team spends its day on customers, exceptions and decisions, not on copying data from one screen to another.
  • Fewer errors. A workflow does every step the same way each time, and anything unclear goes to a person instead of being guessed.
  • Clear ownership. Every run is logged, every approval has a name and a time, and each workflow has an owner who is alerted when a step fails.
  • Work that runs on time. Reports, reconciliations and reminders run on schedule, not when someone finds a free hour.

The time difference helps here. A standard working day in India falls during the US night, so our team can build and watch your workflows while your office is closed. When a run fails at 2 am in Chicago, it is around midday in Gurugram, and the fix can be in before your morning.

An Automation & AI Center of Excellence

One workflow proves the idea. A Center of Excellence (CoE) turns it into a habit: a small group that decides which processes to automate next, sets the standards for bots and AI agents, and makes sure every workflow has an owner, is monitored and is measured. Effred sets up your Automation & AI CoE, runs it with you and hands it over to your own team whenever you want.

  • Setting it up. Choosing the first processes, naming an owner for each, writing down how workflows are built, tested and changed, and agreeing how results are measured.
  • Running it with you. Our team in India builds and monitors the workflows; your people set the priorities and approve the changes.
  • Handing it over. Whenever you want, your own team takes over the pipeline, the standards, the bot and agent library, the runbooks and the dashboards, after training and a period of working side by side.
  • AI with guardrails. AI agents are built with the rules we use for EVA, the AI assistant inside Effred One: they answer from your own data, prepare changes for a person to confirm, and never bypass anyone’s permissions.

Engineers and software, on your schedule

Automation is where we start, not where we stop. Our clients are in 14 countries, including teams in the US, and our teams can overlap with US working hours. This is the other work we take on for US companies:

  • Engineers in your team. Developers, QA, DevOps and data specialists who join your stand-ups, tools and sprints, vetted before you see them. See hiring developers.
  • Products and platforms. Custom software, AI agents and chatbots, and data pipelines and dashboards, built from a written plan with a fixed estimate. See custom software development, AI development and data and analytics.
  • Quality and releases. Manual and automated testing with Selenium, Cypress or Playwright, from QA engineers who join your sprints. See QA and testing.
  • Round-the-clock cover. IT support with P1 incidents acknowledged in under eight minutes, and trained customer support agents in your helpdesk and your tone. See IT support and customer support.

Effred SIM: 24×7 AI monitoring for production applications

Effred SIM, short for Effred’s Super Intelligence for Monitoring, puts autonomous AI agents on your production applications around the clock. They do the operational work themselves: monitoring, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, patching and issue resolution, with a 100 ms average and 0.5 s maximum response time. It covers Kubernetes, virtual machines, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, and the databases behind your applications.

  • Every signal in one view. Metrics, logs, traces, events and synthetic checks, through OpenTelemetry-compatible ingestion, alongside Prometheus and Grafana if you already run them.
  • It understands your system. The agents keep a live map of your services and their dependencies and learn each one’s normal baseline, so they flag unusual behavior, not just a fixed threshold being crossed.
  • One incident, with the evidence. Related alerts are correlated into a single incident, and the root-cause analysis shows which change, which component and which signal is behind it.
  • Fixes within your policies. The agents act on their own through approved runbooks, inside the policies and change windows you set. Risky actions can require approval, every action is logged with its evidence, and rollback is ready.
  • Patching on schedule. Patches roll out in your maintenance windows, canary first or in stages, with automatic rollback if a health check fails.
  • Your tools, a full record. Incidents reach Slack, Microsoft Teams or ServiceNow with a timeline, and each one ends with a post-incident report.

The time difference works in your favor here: the agents never sleep, and our engineers in India are at work during the US night. See Effred SIM, and our guide on how to choose an AI monitoring solution.

Working hours: what a shifted day buys you

A standard 9-to-6 day in India ends at 8:30 am in New York in summer, before your day begins. That suits automation, which can run and be watched while you sleep. For people who work with your team, the question is not whether to shift hours, but how far. Shifted hours are available for the Americas.

Hours shared with a 9 am to 6 pm US day (daylight saving time / standard time)
India working hours (IST)New York (ET)Chicago (CT)Denver (MT)Los Angeles (PT)
9 am – 6 pm (standard)NoneNoneNoneNone
2 pm – 11 pm (shifted)4.5 h / 3.5 h3.5 h / 2.5 h2.5 h / 1.5 h1.5 h / 0.5 h
6:30 pm – 3:30 am (night shift)9 h / 8 h8 h / 7 h7 h / 6 h6 h / 5 h

For engineering, a shifted day plus a clear written handover usually works best: your morning for stand-ups and reviews, and the team’s hours before your day starts for focused building. A full night shift makes sense for support desks that must answer in your hours, and our IT support and customer support teams work around the clock.

India does not change its clocks; the US does, from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, so every overlap moves by an hour twice a year. Most of Arizona and Hawaii stay on standard time all year. Put the dates in the team calendar.

Contracts and invoices

  • Invoices in US dollars. Staff augmentation is one monthly invoice at a fixed rate per person, with no placement fee. The first automated workflow gets a fixed estimate once its scope is agreed, and a software project gets one for the first release once discovery is done.
  • Your IP from day one. The NDA and IP assignment are signed before anyone has access. Code goes into your repositories and runs in your own cloud accounts.
  • Free replacement. If someone is not working out, we replace them at no extra cost and manage the handover.
  • Security reviews. If your security or procurement team needs more detail before you sign, they can write to info@effred.com, and we can sign an NDA first. Our security page covers how we handle data.
  • Tax. Services supplied from India to clients abroad can qualify as zero-rated exports under India’s GST. Ask your own accountant about the US side.

US privacy rules: it comes down to contracts

There is no single US privacy law that covers every kind of personal data. What you must put in place with a vendor in India depends on your sector and on where your customers live, and it applies to automated workflows and monitoring agents as much as to people, because logs and traces can hold personal data too:

  • Health data (HIPAA). If the team, or a workflow we run for you, will create, receive, keep or send protected health information, you need a business associate agreement first, covering permitted uses, safeguards, breach reporting, subcontractors and return or destruction at the end (45 CFR 164.504(e) (opens in a new tab)).
  • Financial data (GLBA). For financial institutions covered by the FTC’s Safeguards Rule, the rule requires choosing service providers that can maintain appropriate safeguards, writing your security expectations into the contract and reassessing providers periodically (16 CFR 314.4(f) (opens in a new tab)).
  • California residents (CCPA). A vendor counts as a service provider only under a contract with the terms the CCPA regulations require, such as no selling or sharing and use only for the named business purposes. Without one, a disclosure can be treated as a sale or sharing (CCPA (opens in a new tab)). If your customers live in other states with privacy laws, check their contract rules for processors too.

Two more points help in a procurement review. India is not one of the “countries of concern” in the Justice Department’s Data Security Program, which restricts some data deals with China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia and Venezuela (28 CFR 202.601 (opens in a new tab)). And India’s own Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 switches off most of its duties for data about people outside India that an Indian company processes under a contract with a client abroad, but keeps the duty to protect it with reasonable security safeguards (sections 17(1)(d) and 8(5), in force from 13 May 2027).

On our side, the NDA and IP assignment are in place before anyone gets access, and our engineers work in your repositories and your accounts, so you decide where the data is hosted.

This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice. Ask your counsel which federal and state rules apply to your data before a vendor sees it.

Put these in the brief for a US project

  • Your most manual process. Which process takes the most hours each week, who does it and which systems it touches. That is usually the best first workflow.
  • Your hours. Which time zone leads, and how many shared hours you need each day. That decides how far we shift the team’s day.
  • Your data. Whether the team or a workflow will see health, financial or children’s data, or data about residents of states with privacy laws, so the right contract is ready before access.
  • Your on-call needs. Whether production incidents or customer questions must be answered in US hours, nights or weekends, and which applications Effred SIM should watch.
  • Your procurement checklist. The security questionnaire and documents your buyers or auditors ask for, so nothing holds up the start.

How to set up an Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE)

Automation rarely starts with a plan. A bot appears in finance, a few flows in HR, an AI pilot somewhere else, and soon nobody knows what runs, who owns it or what it is worth. A Centre of Excellence fixes that. This guide covers when you need one, how to structure it, how to govern AI safely, how to measure value honestly and what the first 90 days look like.

Common questions

Can a US company hand its back-office work to an automation partner in India?

Yes, and automation is what we specialize in. We deploy automations for finance, HR, operations and back-office teams, and across the client deployments we run they remove up to 10,000 hours of manual work a day. We start with one workflow on a fixed estimate, usually live in three to six weeks, and measure it against the old way before you decide what comes next.

What is an Automation & AI Center of Excellence?

A small group that decides which processes to automate next, sets the standards for bots and AI agents, and makes sure every workflow has an owner, is monitored and is measured. Effred sets one up and runs it with you: our team in India builds and monitors the workflows, your people set the priorities and approve the changes, and we hand it over to your own team whenever you want.

How much do US and Indian working hours overlap?

On a standard 9-to-6 day in India, not at all. With a 2 pm to 11 pm India day you share four and a half hours with New York in summer (three and a half in winter), and less further west. Cover for the whole US day means a night shift in India, which is how our 24×7 support teams work.

Do you invoice in US dollars?

Yes. Staff augmentation is one monthly invoice at a fixed rate per person, with no placement fee. The first automated workflow gets a fixed estimate once its scope is agreed, and software projects start with a short paid discovery that ends in a written plan and a fixed estimate.

Is India a country of concern under the US Data Security Program?

No. The Justice Department’s list of countries of concern is China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia and Venezuela. You still need the contracts your sector and your customers’ states require, such as a HIPAA business associate agreement or CCPA service-provider terms.

Do you offer 24×7 AI monitoring for production applications?

Yes. Effred SIM, Effred’s Super Intelligence for Monitoring, puts autonomous AI agents on your production applications around the clock, with a 100 ms average and 0.5 s maximum response time. They monitor, troubleshoot, find the root cause, patch and resolve issues within the policies and change windows you set; risky actions can require approval, and every action is logged with its evidence.
