Why a partner in India, and why us

A partner in India gives you experienced engineers in many cities, English as the working language, and a time zone that shares most of the working day with the Gulf and East Africa and a good part of it with Europe. With shifted hours, it reaches the Americas too.

What matters more is how the partner works. This is how we do it:

  • Automation specialists. We deploy automations for finance, HR, operations and back-office teams, and, across the client deployments we run, they remove up to 10,000 hours of manual work a day. We also set up an Automation & AI Centre of Excellence, run it with you and hand it over to your own team whenever you want. See business process automation and the Automation & AI CoE.
  • 24×7 AI monitoring. Effred SIM, Effred’s Super Intelligence for Monitoring, puts autonomous AI agents on your production applications around the clock. They monitor, troubleshoot, find the root cause, patch and resolve issues within the policies you set, with a 100 ms average and 0.5 s maximum response time.
  • Vetted before you see anyone. Technical tests, live coding or portfolio reviews, and reference checks. You get three to five profiles with test results, and you interview them yourself.
  • Fast to start. A shortlist in about three working days, and a start date usually within one to two weeks.
  • People in India, and closer to you when needed. Mostly in Gurugram, Noida, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai, plus vetted remote specialists in other countries for a closer time zone or a niche skill.
  • No surprises on cost. A fixed monthly rate per person for staff augmentation, with no placement fee; a written plan and a fixed estimate before a project build starts.
  • Yours from day one. The NDA and IP assignment are signed before anyone has access, and code lives in your repositories.
  • Engineering you can check. Every change through a reviewed pull request and CI, infrastructure as code in Terraform, monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry-compatible signals, and a demo of working software every two weeks. See custom software development and DevOps.
  • Free replacement. If someone is not working out, we replace them and manage the handover.

How we work across time zones

India runs on IST (UTC+5:30) all year, with no daylight saving time. Here is how a 9-to-6 day in India meets a 9-to-6 day elsewhere:

Shared hours on a 9 am to 6 pm working day at both ends
CityTime zoneShared hours, standard India dayWith shifted hours
DubaiGST (UTC+4)7.5 hoursMost of your day is already shared
NairobiEAT (UTC+3)6.5 hoursMost of your day is already shared
LondonGMT / BST3.5 hours in winter, 4.5 in summerUp to the whole UK day
New YorkEST / EDTNone3.5 hours in winter, 4.5 in summer, with a 2–11 pm India day

Shifted hours are available for Europe and the Americas. Whatever the overlap, the pattern is the same: meetings in the shared hours, a written handover at the end of the India day, and your own tools, from your chat and tracker to your repositories. Where an answer is needed at any hour, our IT support and customer support teams work 24×7, and the AI agents of Effred SIM monitor production applications around the clock, whatever the time where you are.

Ways to work together

ModelHow it worksTypical
Staff augmentationOne or more people join your team, your stand-ups, tools and sprints. You direct the work. From 1 person, monthly
Dedicated teamA full squad of engineers, QA and a lead, working only on your product. From 3 people, quarterly
Project deliveryA short paid discovery ends in a written plan and a fixed estimate; then working software every two weeks.Discovery in 1–2 weeks, then two-week sprints
Contract-to-hireWork together first, then move the person to your own payroll on terms agreed upfront.3–6 month trial
Build–operate–transferWe set up and run a team in India, then transfer it to your own entity.12–36 months

Our guide to staff augmentation, dedicated teams and outsourcing compares the models on control, speed, cost and risk.

We can also arrange and manage AI and software subscriptions for your team, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Microsoft 365, invoiced in INR, USD, AED, GBP or EUR like the rest of our work.

Contracts and invoices in your currency

  • Five currencies. We invoice in INR, USD, AED, GBP or EUR. Staff augmentation is one monthly invoice.
  • Clear ownership. The NDA and IP assignment come first. Code, designs and documentation are yours, in your repositories, and apps and sites run in your own accounts.
  • Tax. Services supplied from India to clients abroad can qualify as zero-rated exports under India’s GST. Your own VAT or withholding tax rules still apply on your side, so check them with your accountant.
  • Security reviews. If your security or procurement team needs more detail before you sign, they can write to info@effred.com, and we can sign an NDA first. See our security page.

Your data, your law

When a team in India sees personal data about your customers or staff, the law of your country usually decides what you must put in place first. Each region page explains the details; in short:

RegionMain lawWhat to put in place
KenyaData Protection Act, 2019 (ODPC)A ground for the transfer under section 48, consent and safeguards for sensitive data, and a written transfer agreement
UAEPDPL; DIFC and ADGM have their own lawsA route under PDPL Article 22 or 23, or the free zone’s own rules, such as its standard contractual clauses
United KingdomUK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018The IDTA or the UK Addendum, a transfer risk assessment and an Article 28 processor contract
United StatesSector and state lawsThe contracts your data needs, such as a HIPAA business associate agreement or CCPA service-provider terms

On the Indian side, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 switches off most of its duties for data about people outside India that an Indian company processes under a contract with a client abroad, but keeps the duty to protect it with reasonable security safeguards (sections 17(1)(d) and 8(5), in force from 13 May 2027). In practice, your law and your contract set the rules, and our engineers work in your accounts, so you decide where the data is hosted.

The region pages are plain-language summaries, not legal advice. Check your own case with your adviser before personal data leaves your country.

AI monitoring and AIOps: how to choose an AI monitoring solution

AI can now do more than raise alerts. It can connect signals across a production system, find the likely root cause and fix known problems on its own. This guide explains what each layer does, where AI helps and where it does not, how to keep autonomy safe, and how to compare vendors.

How to choose a software development company in India

Outsourced software projects often go wrong before the first line of code is written: a vague scope, a team that changed after the pitch, or a contract that left the code with someone else. This checklist covers what to ask, what to read and when to walk away.

How to brief a staff augmentation partner

Common questions

Does Effred work with companies outside India?

Yes. We work with clients in 14 countries, and our teams can overlap with Gulf, European and US working hours. There are pages for Kenya and East Africa, the UAE, the UK and the US with the hours, invoices and data rules for each.

Which currencies do you invoice in?

INR, USD, AED, GBP or EUR. Staff augmentation is one monthly invoice at a fixed rate per person, with no placement fee.

How quickly can a developer from India start?

A shortlist of three to five vetted profiles usually arrives within three working days. After you interview them, the person you choose usually starts within one to two weeks, depending on seniority and notice periods.

How do you handle the time difference?

Meetings in the shared hours, a written handover at the end of the India day, and your own tools. Shifted hours are available for Europe and the Americas, our IT support and customer support teams work 24×7, and the AI agents of Effred SIM monitor production applications around the clock, with a 100 ms average and 0.5 s maximum response time.

Who owns the work?

You do. The NDA and IP assignment are signed before anyone has access, and code, designs and documentation are yours, in your repositories, from day one.

Which data protection law applies when a team in India works with our data?

Usually your own country’s law, which decides the contract and safeguards you need before the team sees personal data. India’s DPDP Act switches off most of its duties for data about people outside India that is processed under a contract with a client abroad, but keeps the duty to keep it secure.
