WhatsApp Messaging Policy

The WhatsApp Business account displaying the name Laundry Boys by Effred Technologies is operated by Effred Technologies LLP. Laundry Boys (also written LaundryBoys) is a service brand owned and operated by Effred Technologies LLP.

The brand is written Laundry Boys on the logo, in the mobile app and on customer invoices, and LaundryBoys — the same name closed up — wherever a space is not allowed, which is the web address, the app package identifier and our social handles. The WhatsApp display name, Laundry Boys by Effred Technologies, names the operating company alongside the brand so that the account cannot be confused with any other laundry service. All three are ours and all three refer to the same business. None is an abbreviation: no letters are dropped and no words are shortened. We send a WhatsApp message only after you have given us permission. Permission is captured in one of these ways:

• At booking — the checkout screen in the Laundry Boys app and on this website carries the statement “Send my order updates to WhatsApp on this number” with an unticked box you choose to tick.
• In app settings — you can turn WhatsApp order updates on or off under Notifications at any time.
• By messaging us first — if you start the conversation on our business number, that is your opt-in for us to reply and to send updates about the order we discuss.
• At the door — where a pickup is booked by phone, our agent reads the consent statement aloud and records your answer against the order.

Opt-in for order updates is separate from opt-in for promotional messages. Ticking one does not tick the other.

• Service and order updates — booking confirmation with your slot, rider on the way, items picked up, order in cleaning, out for delivery, delivered.
• Billing — the itemised invoice for an order and confirmation once payment is received or a refund is processed.
• Authentication — one-time passwords used to verify your number when you sign in.
• Support — replies from a Laundry Boys agent when you write to us about an order.
• Promotions — offers and seasonal discounts, sent only to customers who gave separate marketing consent.

We do not send unsolicited bulk messages, and we do not message numbers that have not transacted with or contacted Laundry Boys.

• Reply STOP to our WhatsApp number. All messages, including order updates, end within 24 hours.
• Reply STOP PROMO to end marketing messages while keeping order updates.
• Turn WhatsApp updates off under Notifications in the Laundry Boys app.
• Email laundryboys@effred.com with the number you want removed.
• Reply START at any time to resume.

Opting out is free and takes effect without you having to ask twice. If you opt out of order updates entirely, you will still see order status in the app.

To deliver a message we share your mobile number and the message content with WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. and Meta Platforms. We do not sell, rent or pass your WhatsApp number to advertisers or unrelated third parties. What we collect, why, and how long we keep it is set out in the Laundry Boys Privacy Policy.

Laundry Boys operates this channel in line with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, the WhatsApp Commerce Policy and Meta’s display name guidelines, alongside applicable Indian law on consent and personal data. We do not use WhatsApp to sell any product or service restricted under the Commerce Policy — our business is laundry, dry cleaning, steam ironing and the pickup and delivery of garments.

If you believe a message from Laundry Boys breached this policy, write to laundryboys@effred.com with the number that received it. We investigate and respond within 5 working days.
